18-20 scholarships are usually offered each year to the Agris Mundus master course by the Erasmus Mundus Programme of the European Union.
NEW! From 2010, there will be two categories of scholarships for both Category A and Category B students.
Eligibility criteria for Category A grants
- To be a citizen of a third-country: all countries other than:
the 27 States of the European Union or the associated states [Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway] or Switzerland; - Not residing or having carried out his/her main activity (studies, work, etc.) in any EU Member State or associated country for more than a total of 12 months the last five years at the date of the application.
Eligibility criteria for Category B grants
- Group B corresponds to nationals of the EU Member States, or from Switzerland, Iceland, Norway or Liechtenstein;
- Candidates from Group A countries, but who have been residents or have carried their main activities in one of the Group B countries for more than 12 months over the last five years, can also be considered within the Group B

Selection
The academic admission is confirmed and the specific criteria are observed.
The Agris Mundus consortium and the European Commission select who receives an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
European students academically admitted but not selected for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship may apply for one of the following grants:

Erasmus mobility grant: 100-200 Eur. per month
European students attending Agris Mundus course may be entitled to an additional Erasmus mobility grant, regardless of having benefited from this grant before.
How and for which purpose?
- upon request to the university of the 1st year of the training course,
- dedicated to the second year of studies -
Grant from the Conseil Regional Languedoc Roussillon: 400 Eur. per month
The local authority Languedoc Roussillon supports the Agris Mundus students during their stay in Montpellier.
Other Scholarships
Students admitted but not selected for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship are encouraged to seek other sources of financial support. For this purpose, the secretariat can send them an estimate of the cost of the studies.
Arrival in Europe, how things are going on?
- The Erasmus Mundus scholarships are managed by the Agris Mundus secretariat. Beneficiaries are required to order themselves their flight ticket from their home country.
- The studies office manager of the first hosting country will help you to open a personal bank account.
Then, you will receive a lump sum of 1,500 Eur. representing a part of the scholarship.
The remaining one will be transferred regularly to your bank account.
