Local development and sustainable development in agriculture

There are 2 training tracks to specialise on local rural development. Both conclude with a M2 in Madrid, while the M1 is offered either at Cork or Montpellier.
 
The M1 in Cork is oriented towards the economy of the food sector, while in Montpellier, the basis are more oriented on agriculture.
 
 
-          Montpellier SupAgro (France) for the M1
-          Polytechnic University of Madrid for the M2
 
Training objectives:
Graduates should be able to:
-          Critically assess agricultural production systems and rural livelihoods in order to identify limiting factors and bottlenecks,
-          Review various institutional options for supporting (social, economical and technical) innovation at the local level,
-          Evaluate (technical, economic, social) consequences of the possible solutions for all the people concerned,
-          Conceptualise and implement global development policies / projects in situations with strong emphasis on the institutional situation,
-          Monitor and evaluate local development projects,
-          Cope with the current global / international current in rural local development and sustainable planning.

The courses offered at Madrid are those of the Research Master of Rural Planning and Sustainable Management.
 
 
Training delivered at:
-          University College Cork (Ireland) for the M1 (Teaching in English).
-          Polytechnic University of Madrid for the M2 (Teaching in Spanish)
 
Training objectives:
-          Make students able to cope with the current global / international current in rural local development and sustainable planning;
-          Train specialists who practice as local leaders and promoters of the social well being in local framework with an international perspective.
